Dam Construction and Introduction to Xiluodu Project |

Located along the Jinsha River, Sichuan & Yunnan Province. This project
is planed to generate 12600 MW of electricity. The reservoir capacity
would be 12.9 billion cubic meters. Upon completion, the Xiluodu
Hydropower Plant will be the 2nd largest hydroelectric plant in China
after the Three Gorges Hydropower Plant, the 3rd over the world. This dam with multi-function such as farming, river navigation for their livelihoods, generating, flood control etc. This dam constructed and operated by Three Gorges Project Development Corporation. This dam has been start to construct from Dec 2005, plan to close river in Nov 2007, and 1st generating electricity of plant installation in June 2013, completion in 2015. |
